Autism in a Nutshell is a division of Agape Nutrition, a 4 Star rated Yahoo online nutritional web store established in 1994.

Dr. Stephen Smith, MD and his staff have been working with autistic children for over 15 years and chronically ill patients for over 20 years.  Dr. Smith developed his interest in integrative medicine by necessity.  In 1984, he became very ill with fibromyalgia.  He realized none of his current medical training was useful in getting his own health problems under control.  It is his journey to restore his own health that lead him into the field of integrated medicine.  Once exposed to this kinder gentler and more effective form of medicine, that relied more on nutrition and detoxification, than pharmaceuticals, it was impossible to go back to a world of medicine that just treated symptoms.

There are few things more enjoyable in life and listening to the mother of an autistic child tell you that her child is now speaking and to share in her delight. It is our hope and goal that we can help more children recover from autism through targeted information that parents can implement in their own homes.

Over the years we have found the most difficult problem in the treatment of autism is getting the parents involved without overwhelming them. Our goal at Autism in a Nutshell  is to help parents through those crucial first steps by providing information and the tools parent's need to get started.

Our teams of writers all have intimate experience with autism. Most of our writers have autistic children themselves and they were selected because of the intimate knowledge of autism from both a professional and personal level.
